With the sync settings Woo – > Square, if I create a new product on Woo, will it automatically get pushed to Square or how do I force it to be created in Square? There’s a “Sync now” button under “Update” tab in Woo, what will it do exactly? Or should I create it on Square and then click “Import all Products from Square” in Woo panel? have 700 existing products already and I’m afraid either of those options may overwrite existing product’s data fields (such as categories) or duplicate products or mess it up some other way, I don’t want to test it until I know for sure what these buttons will exactly do. Or to be safe, should I just create it on Woo then on Square manually too, and just make sure SKUs match to enable autosync?

    Hi @naarian

When you create a new product on WooCommerce and have the WooCommerce Square plugin installed and configured, the new product should automatically sync to Square. The “Sync now” button under the “Update” tab is designed to manually initiate an immediate sync of all your products between WooCommerce and Square.

However, if you’re concerned about potential data overwrites or duplication, it’s a good practice to manually create the product on both platforms and ensure the SKUs match. This way, the autosync feature will recognize the matching SKUs and keep the product data in sync moving forward.

Please note that the “Import all Products from Square” feature in the WooCommerce panel is designed to pull all product data from Square into WooCommerce. It’s a good option when you’re initially setting up your store or when you’ve made bulk changes in Square that you want to reflect in WooCommerce.

A resources to understand how our plugin works is the documentation: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-square/sync-settings/

Furthermore, I recommend that you stick with one thread instead of starting several. This is not only because WordPress forum guidelines prohibit it, but it also simplifies our task of tracking your progress and providing further assistance.

I hope this provides some clarity. Please let us know if you have any other questions!

    Thank you, that helps!

I created a new thread per question since they are all different topics and I though this may be helpful for other users to find answers faster.

    Hi @naarian

I’m glad to hear that the information provided was helpful!

Your thoughtfulness in creating separate threads for different topics is appreciated, and indeed, it can be beneficial for other users searching for similar issues. However, since your questions are related to a single issue or topic (sync settings), it’s better to keep them in one thread for continuity and easier tracking.

Remember, we’re here to help you with any questions or problems you might have. Don’t hesitate to ask if you need further assistance. Happy selling!
