• For a long time I have the idea of creating a site/community where people will post their stuff that they want to get rid of. Someone’s trash could be someone else’s treasure, so, instead of throwing stuff in the trash maybe someone would be interested in taking it, for free or even for a price if it is really worthy or many people are interested and then the highest bidder will probably win.

I need a WP plugin that can do the following:
    – Multi-vendor (each user will have profile and stuff to give away and reviews)
    – Auction style listings that can start from 0 price
    – Multiple users can declare their interest by “bidding” at 0 price (to get it for free), or any other price. The “seller” can accept any of the “bidders”, 0 bidders or any other price bidder even it’s not the highest bidder (because he likes him more, or location is nearer, or anything)
    – Easy upload of photos from web page or mobile friendly web page or from a mobile app (ok, probably I’ll have to create one)

I haven’t found any plugin with these features. Until now I have tried a site with WooCommerce and https://wpwham.com/products/product-open-pricing-name-your-price-for-woocommerce/ and https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/users-ultra/ and then it started feeling too complicated.
Maybe this combination would work https://store.webkul.com/woocommerce-multivendor-marketplace.html and
https://store.webkul.com/woocommerce-multi-vendor-auction.html …But these are business oriented plugins, heavy and expensive. I want something simple and free/cheap, for my experimental site.
Can you think of any plugin for this purpose? Even one that could be modified easily. I am not a WP developer, but I know old-school PHP/MySQL. Or maybe I should skip WP completely and make a simple site from scratch? hmmm….

  • Hi,

You need several plugins to meet your requirements. Sometimes it’s not easy to get all plugins work together and you might need to use theirs APIs or even change their codes. When so many custom functionalities you need, it’s better you create a this site from scratch based on WordPress or other frameworks. Or you can try no code tool like https://bubble.io .

Oh, I see… I don’t know WP dev or frameworks, I only coded simple PHP projects, years ago.
I didn’t know bubble.io, I just checked it out, and I wonder if I should invest time to learn it without being sure if it will suit me eventually, I wouldn’t like to reach a dead end.
