How can I create a static About page. I don’t want “Leave a Reply” on most pages.

    Thank You!

Make your Desired page and then go to settings->Reading
Choose Front page displays as static page and below it select the Desired page.. you are done..
And WordPress had default feature to disable comments..
Do check it of google it..

    Thank you.

I already have set the static home page, but I also want static About, Contact (with form), and Event pages without the Reply/Comment box.

Is there a setting to do turn off the Reply/Comment Box, or do I need to make a code change. If it’s a code change, can you tell me the module.

    Thank You again.

I said you, WordPress has default feature to turn on/off comments..
Find a screen options button at the right top corner of a page editor..
Click it and Check the Discussion field.
Now watch at the bottom of the page, you will find the option to disable comment.

Thanks. Yes, I already tried it.

When I am in the page editor, Screen Options, the only Attributes checked
are Page Attributes, Featured Image, and sidebar layout.

I have tried reloading the page. tried turning options on and off, saving and reloading. Tried it in another browser and Leave a Reply it still there.

Do not use the page editor but choose the ‘quick edit’ on the context menu that shows.

Thanks. Author, Comments and Date are all unchecked. I even tried checking, saving, unchecking, saving.

When I do have it unchecked and return to the Page section, it remains unchecked so it is getting set.

I created a new page with only Page Attributes, Featured Image, and sidebar layout checked and that page does not have the comments.

I will remove the older pages, and recreate them.

    Thank You again!

It should work in older pages as well as far as i know.. you don’t need to create new pages so far..
