Create an archives page

Viper, if you are using the Clean Archives plugin, the code that is seen on your page should be not in the content, but in the archives.php template. If you don’t have it, create one in your theme. See also the Codex.
Then create a new Page by using that template, don’t write anything in the content area, just save it and you are done.

OK, I followed this and created an archive page for my blog https://www.holster.co.uk/blog

The result is here:

but as you can see it hasn’t included my sidebars etc and is a little messy. My theme is a tweaked version of Mike Little’s Journalized.

I’ve obviously done something wrong along the line somewhere, can anyone enlighten me?

I have added the function from the Clean Archives plugin to the archive page above to add more detail but I’m still unsure as to how to get it to show my sidebars etc…

Any pointers?

Open up your page.php and use that as an example. My archive template is just a copy of page.php with a couple little extras thrown in.

(Basically, you’re gonna need to put in <?php get_sidebar(); ?>)
