I’m really liking the Zippy theme but have not figured out how to create a blog page that contains the posts – a page I can link from my menu, etc. Sorry if it’s obvious, but can you give me some direction? Is there a short code I should be using?

    Thanks,
    Chris

While waiting for an answer, I’ve done a workaround by making a default blog category and linking to that from the menu instead of to a page with the blog. But I would prefer to have a page with more options (and unlimited categories), without having to put the blog on the home page.

Although, echoing another post in the forum, it would also be great if the footer was widgetized so one could include latest posts, HTML and other widgets.

Thanks again for any help you can give. It’s really a nice-looking theme.

    Hi Dear,

Thanks for your appreciation. Sorry for the delaying reply.

It seems that you are confused about several basic concepts in WordPress, such as menu, page, post, and categories. You need to first add a new page and then add it to the menu. If you want a page with unlimited categories, go to Dashboard -> Posts -> Categories, and add a new name. Every time you are going to publish a new post, remember to select the categories from the right side Categories boxes. If you want to show the categories list on the blog page, you have to add the Categories widget to the sidebar. For more information about menu management and how to create a static page, you can visit our blog for more tutorials. Hope you could find some useful information there.

As for your suggestion about the widgetized footer, it sounds quite reasonable. We will definitely take it into consideration while dealing with the theme upgrade.

I’m not sure whether I’ve solved your problems. Anyway, good luck and enjoy Zippy.

    I have the same problem.

If I check the case “Active zippy home page Layou” in apparence/Zippy options/Home page, my home Page will be a beautiful static page and if I uncheck the case, it will be my last articles.

BUT I want both !! Articles and the beautiful static page !!

How can I do that ??

    Thanks ??

It’s been 3 months since the last post was written and still there’s no answer… Hope I get one, since I have the same problem.

While reading your answer, I think it didn’t really solved the issue because we don’t want categories widget, we want to have both, a homepage and a blog-page which can be added to the main menu.

Would you please help us solving this? I guess here we all love Zippy theme, it’ll be nice to be able to do what I just explained.

    Thanks for your time!
