Create Child Post Layout PHP

    I am trying to create a custom post layout in my Neve child theme. However, when I copy post-layout.php into my child theme, it does not use that .php file, reverting to the parent one.

    I have mirrored the file location in my child theme so it is the same as the parent theme. I have also copied over single.php and content-single.php into the child theme and have confirmed that the website is using those child files.

    Any idea as to how I can get it to use the child post-layout.php file?
