    Love this plugin! Thank you!

We have 3 types of events. 1)in person date/time specific, 2)online date/time specific and 3)ongoing events with no specific date/time such as a girl scout troop that meets weekly and anyone can join at any time.

I can’t seem to figure out how to create an ongoing, non date specific event. Once the start date passes, the event doesn’t show. It probably shouldn’t since it would look like an out dated listing.

Any suggestions? Or maybe it’s just not possible with an events manager.

  • Hi,

My opinion is that an events manager must stick to events that you can tag with a date/time before the event happens.
All the tooling that make an events manager useful hinges around that (event booking, event filtering …)

If you know that something must happen weekly without the knowledge of when, the best you can do is to handle it with regular posts (posts for the head-ups and posts for the minutes of the meetings)

    It’s only my opinion

sorry, this isn’t possible at the moment however have you tried to used combinations of conditional placeholders? – https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/conditional-placeholders/

you’d be surprised how many people ask for non-timed events, but I just don’t see how an event can happen without a time? I usually recommend users to use tags or something that can be used to differentiate between events with ‘no time’

in the above example, the weekly meetings still occur at a time/place. I’d say you want is a recurring event.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions / thoughts. I did realize this weekend that its probably a combination of both a recurring event and posts with tags and now I should be able to finish up the site. I can’t seem to get my search function to work now, but that’s another post ??

Thank you Marcus, angelo_nwl and FranceImage.
