Create Gallery Using FTP

  • With all the problems with the flash image uploader (there’s a ton of support reaquests about it and mine is broken too), I’m wondering if there’s any other way to use the [gallery] shortcode. Currently, to use the [gallery] shortcode you have to upload images into a post using the image uploader and then use the shortcode. This is fine if you can use the browser upload for one or two images, but if you have 50+ images you want to insert and have to use the browser image upload (because the flash version is broken) it becomes a real pain. I’m wondering if there’s a way to upload images using FTP and then use the [gallery] shortcode for a lot of images at once?

  • Can I assume your image gallery uploads – or is supposed to – to a defined folder at your host? If so, just shoot your images to that folder via your ftp program and use standard html links to display them.

    But that kind of defeats the purpose of using the handy [gallery] shortcode…
