Create Image failed. Check safe mode settings
-
The Nextcellent Gallery plugin will no longer create thumbnails for images I upload into galleries. The images themselves are uploaded into the appropriate folder, and folder permissions are set correctly (755 on the entire directory and all sub-directories), however, the plugin throws an error, “Create Image failed. Check safe mode settings” whenever trying to create thumbnails of the uploaded images.
According to this thread I found from a couple years ago, https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/error-create-image-failed-check-safe-mode-settings/, at the time, this issue was believed to be related to my hosting server’s “safe mode” settings. However, there is no reference to safe mode settings being displayed in my Nextcellent Gallery’s Dashboard under “Server Settings.”
Does anyone have any idea what this issue may actually be, and how to fix? I have tried all the obvious fixes. Disabled all plugins put Nextcellent Gallery, and reverted back to default, WordPress twentyfourteen theme. I also have a support ticket in to my hosting provider, who has had to escalate the ticket to their senior developers.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Troy
