Create new homepage on Twenty Seventeen by substituting .php file

  • Hi,

    I’d like to substitute the current homepage in my twenty seventeen child theme because I want to completely remove the parallax effect and menu bar from the homepage. I’m not yet sure if this is possible with my limited knowledge of code but I’ve read that if I substitute the .php file with a new home page .php file then I can pull it off.

    Any tips on how I create this file and carry through with the substitution would be greatly appreciated. I am very new at all of this. I hope this is not too confusing!

  • Theme questions should be in the theme’s support forum. It might even be answered already there.
    But an easier way would be to switch themes. There are thousands! (including some child themes of Twenty Seventeen)
