Create new sidebar keeps loading

    Installed Custom Sidebars today. Would love to have this plugin working. When clicking the button “Create new sidebar” I get the dialog for the name and descrition for the new sidebar.

    After entering names in the fields I click on the button “Create sidebar” and then a white window pops up with a rotating clock. The windows will be there foverer. When I refresh the screen the window is gone, and no custom sidebar is made. When I click on “allow this sidebar to be relaced” the same thing happens: rotating clock forever.

    Tested a few things: Reinstalled the plugin; deactivated all other plugins. Tested with standard twenty twelve theme in stead of twenty fourteen. No changes.

    Using WP 3.9.1. and Custome Sidebars 2.09.

    I have searched the forum, but only found a post where replacing an other conflicting plugin was the solution. Having deactivated all other plugins to test, this solution seems not applicable for my situation…

    Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.

    I have tested using the same configuration that you have and the plugin has worked fine for me without any issue.

    Can you please try enabling WP_DEBUG mode? To do this, just go to wp-config.php include this:

    define('WP_DEBUG',true);

    You might already have a line for WP_DEBUG, so just make sure it’s set to true.

    Also check the javascript console for errors?
    In Chrome go to “View -> Developer -> Javascript Console” and in Firefox you can go to “Tools -> Web Developer -> Console”

    Let me know what errors if any you are getting when creating custom sidebar or clicking on “allow this sidebar to be replaced” so that i can troubleshoot it.

    Well, tried this at home; no problems at all!

    It looks like the problem is caused by pc at my office ??
    I think the more strict security settings or the fact that Internet Explorer is the mandatory browser there is causing the problems.

    I have the same problem, i tried changing config file but that is not working. I also checked javascript. I get the following error:

    TypeError: settings.data.search is not a function

    Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.

    Ideally its not a good process to post on a thread 6 months old. The plugin has changed since then and so has WordPress ??

    Especially the original ticket creator might not like the thread to be hijacked ?? Just a suggestion, no stress !
