Create Slider Text Overlay to Make Text Standout More

Looking at the homepage, I would like the words to standout more over the main image slider like in example 2 on the website below:

I’ve tried every color but it still looks flat. I think a shadow effect may make it pop out more. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.
