Create Social Media Message stuck on Saving….

My first couple of posts worked fine but now in the post editor, after I click the Create message button, it simply stalls on Saving…

That’s quite strange. Messages are saved via JavaScript so, if you’re stuck on Saving…, it probably means that something went wrong. Taking into account that nobody else reported this issue recently, it’s probably a compatibility issue with other scripts, but I can’t tell from the outside. If you could contact us (support dot content at nelio software dot com) we can further investigate this issue.

The first fews messages got delivered to Twitter but without a featured image. Tried fiddling with the settings on that but nothing worked. Divi is the theme.

Did you try to manually share a post in Twitter? Does it include the image? Twitter and other networks require some meta tags in your HTML that tell them what image, title, and excerpt should be shown when sharing a certain URL. Our plugin assumes those meta tags are where they’re supposed to be. If it doesn’t work, manually sharing a link shouldn’t work either.

Now the Nelio meta box is showing I need to subscribe to unlock even the single post I’m allowed. Is there a limit on the number of messages I can send per day or something?

You can share one social message per post per network when the post is about to be published (in other words, you can create the message while the post is a draft or pending).

Please contact us directly and we’ll be glad to take a closer look at your site and setup. From the outside, it’s quite difficult to tell what might be happening.

Thanks for the quick response. I’ll contact you directly for the main issues but right now it seems like the problem was caused by a Chrome extension. Tried posting in an incognito window and it worked, although when I added an image in the popup, it stalled on Saving…. again. When I refreshed the page though the image had been inserted after all.

And no, pasting a link manually into Twitter doesn’t grab the featured image. WTH would be preventing that? ??

Your theme or a plugin must add the meta tags required by Twitter (and other social networks). Yoast SEO, for instance, can do that for you, but there’s plenty of other options.
