Create user-uploaded video gallery, YouTube style?

  • Is it possible to use VideoPress to create a user-uploaded video gallery, YouTube style?

    The ability to upload videos would of course be restricted to certain roles, and I would want to be able to screen them to approve each one before they got posted.

    If not, is there any plugin capable of doing this sort of thing?

  • VideoPress is for wordpress.com I think.

    You could do the same thing with WordPress or a WordPress network.

    Then you just as well have the user/contributor send them to you and you post them.

    It was created in wordpress.com, I believe, but there is a plugin with the same name for www.ads-software.com.

    Yes, they would be assigned a role like that, but I’d like to encourage people by making it easy. I guess there could be a form for requesting a contributor role, but once they’ve got it, how can they upload to a gallery, rather than an individual post with a video?

    Is there a video gallery plugin in WordPress that allows that? It seems the only ones I’ve found take videos from YouTube, etc, other than Kaltura, and that won’t allow for anyone to upload but me.
