Created 2nd database & now nothing works

  • Hi, I’m a novice, having just started last week. But, I had a pretty nice webpage set up using WordPress. Then I decided to start a second database for another site I have (which is a subdirectory of my main page).

    Well I created a new database in the same directory as the first. Then I tried to access my webpage and it no longer worked. So, I deleted the new database. My old one still will not work.

    Below is the error message I get when I run wp-admin/install.php on my website:

    Error establishing a database connection
    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    I then checked my wp-config.php file and it has the correct info regarding my initial database name, user, and password.

    Any ideas?
