• Folders created in the plugin interface are not visible on the server through any FTP application.

    I don’t understand.

    I clicked Sync.

    What can I do?

Actually, they are appearing in Cyberduck now.
But not Forklift. Or my host’s web-based File Manager. Or iOS FTPManager. Or another third-party web-based FTP client.
    Strange.
9,000+ items in /uploads/ (hence the need to move them into specific sub-folders). I wonder if there is some FTP structure caching going on. The new folders have the same permission, 755, as others.

If they are appearing in Cyberduck, then they must be there. You can also try uploading a file to one of the new folders and then copy the file’s URL, which you can find by clicking on the image in the media library or Media Library Folders, and pasting it into browser’s address box to view the file and demonstrate that the folder exists. But for your other software which are not showing the folders, I cannot provide technical support.
