I created a user registration form with Forminator. After submitting, it always says, “This username is already registered.” This happens even if I try never-used usernames. It seems to only happen when using PayPal payment on submission, but not sure. (I have a ‘pay by check’ checkbox set to hide the Paypal form, and the Paypal field is not required.)

After submitting, the page reloads and a different username is displaying in the form, below the error message. The rest of the form has the correct info as it was just submitted. I think that’s just the browser populating the field with my normal username. But could this cause the rejection?

How can I fix this problem? Thanks for any help!

This turned out to be caused by a browser extension which was filling in the username as the page was refreshing after submission.

Which brings up another question: How can you add autocomplete=”off” for a specific <input> element of the form? I will start a new support thread for this question.
