Creating a child theme

    Hi,

    I’m running WordPress 4.1 running Virtue theme (LOVE this theme). I would like to create a child theme so I can add a code to function.php for a dynamically populated form field found here
    I need to be able to do it so every time I update the Virtue theme I won’t have to always add the code manually to the function.php

    I also have several CSS custom styles which probably should be in child theme css.

    Can you please explain the best way to create such a child theme.
