• Hello,

I have inherited a WordPress site and updated it from version 3.2 to 3.9.4 and in the process the menu process previously used was gone. I have recreated the menu, since it was based on the existing hierarchy (and checked to add new pages).

    I was wondering if

    A) Is it possible to have a menu based on post hierarchy with evolve?
    B) Has this ever been possible with evolve?

    Thank you,

    Treevs

Unfortunately, I cannot as it is internal only.

According to this: https://www.wpbeginner.com/glossary/primary-menu/, “most themes list pages as the menu items by default” and I was tasked with finding out if Evolve used to do that and no longer does, if it was something that the previous developer tacked on that was overwritten by an update, or if Evolve should do it, but our instance of WordPress is out of whack.

    Thank you for your time.

@treevs — I don’t think Evolve is any different than any other themes in the way it handles menus. If you go to Appearance > Menus you will see that you can create as many menus as you like, and you can set whichever you choose as the primary menu. So if you don’t like the menu you have, just create a different one and set that as primary.

At the bottom of the page, there is a box to tick under Menu Settings to choose whether you want to automatically add new top-level pages to the menu.
