• I want to create a new template, with most things the same as the Kubrick theme but with some different images and some CSS changes. What is the best way to do this? The Theme Editor just lets me edit existing themes.

  • You make a copy of the Kubrixk (warning: you’ll get a lot of grey hair!) and start tweaking/editing it on your computer. Then upload it into its own folder under the themes/ folder and see what you did.

For editing/designing new themes I installed XAMPP on my computer and in this way I can see instantly all my edits without any kind of uploads.
    XAMPP: https://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html
Also see the Codex about theme design: Blog_Design_and_Layout

Be sure to change the name of the theme in the css file in your working copy, or you’ll have some serious wonkiness when you try to activate it….

Well, when I link to pages in the Codex like I did above I always mean “read all the articles linked from there” ??
