creating a newsletter

    I’d like to have a page on my blog devoted to my forthcoming book, and on this page have a form field where people can sign up for a newsletter by giving their email addresses.

    From this, I’d like to be able to send out an email – not a form newsletter but with varying content. It would be nice to be able to include an unsubscribe function too.

    I can’t see a wordpress plugin that can do this, I tried mailing list, but it appears to be only tailored for sending blog post updates. I don’t necessarily want the people who sign up for the newsletters to become members of my blog.

    Any advice much appreciated. There may be a workaround which would enable me to use existing plugins with some tailoring and minimal fuss, but I don’t have the expertise.

    Would anyone who has or can customise a solution for my blog get in touch? I would be willing to pay for this help, and subsequently make the plugin available to other people.

    I use shiftthis’ newsletter plugin. You have to pay for it, but it’s *really* nice. shiftthis.net
