Creating A Website For WordPress

  • I’d like to create a website well a layout for my website.. im using of course wordpress Version 2.8.2

    and, I’d like to have it kinda looking like this

    So, on both sides there would be a chatbox, list of categories,maybe a feature band, on the top I’d like to put some pages.

    How, could I go about doing this?
    Would like to have the widgets in there also, I guess, Or can i always embed my chatbox code into the layout cause sometimes the chatbox will get smaller when loading the page and sometimes it gets bigger it’s really odd
