Creating a WordPress Page then changing domain name to a name hosted on GoDaddy
-
Okay, so.
I have a site built in the Godaddy website builder that I now want to change over to WordPress. I do not want to take my website down in the meantime, and would like to build the website in WordPress and then change the domain over afterwards, because taking it directly over would require me o cancel the GoDaddy builder, and would take down the site until I can finish the WordPress version.Other issue being it is a .ca website, which cannot be transferred to wordpress servers, only mapped, and I don’t know if you can change the domain name to it afterwards.
I was hoping to avoid buying a new domain name by using a subdomain, but I don’t think I can create a WordPress site on the subdomain without disabling the GoDaddy builder for the site at large.
Please help. I’m guessing I’ll have to purchase a new domain and build the site there, but want to be sure the .ca site and the current domain will be possible to change to before I do.
