• Bear with me, I’m quite new to WordPress!

Essentially, I’m trying to start a new blog and I’m looking into how to create a theme for it – worth noting here, I’ve got decent knowledge of HTML and basic knowledge of CSS.

I had initially planned on designing a theme from scratch using a tutorial, but after progressing through one I found myself lost – clearly my knowledge isn’t enough to do this on my own, so I considered a child theme – although I’m afraid it won’t get anywhere near the result I’m hoping for.

My design is based on a few strong graphical elements in the header and sidebar – and having designed a few websites in iWeb, I found it particularly useful for assembling these elements and add hyperlinks within them and so on.

And so, I was wondering, is there a way to design a page on iWeb and convert it to either a theme or a child theme for use on WordPress?

Any insight or tips for designing this type of theme would be much appreciated!
