Creating clickable video placeholder

I’m trying to find out how I can create a YouTube-style video placeholder, similar to what you see when you go to YouTube’s homepage. I am developing an online course that will include several videos and I prefer to have a clickable placeholder with an image from the video. Perhaps there’s a plugin in WP that can be used for this?

Hi @crazydiamond23, good question! I personally have been creating my own static image, uploading it, then linking that image to the video page. Surely there must be a solution that makes it easier. ??

Thank you so much for responding. I should have been more clear about needing to generate these from a Vimeo video. I’ll check out your links and let’s see if anyone else replies with other options. If I end up with a good reliable solution I’ll post it here.
