How long does it take your plugin to get normalized?

    1. I installed it 12 hours ago and it is still stating “We are currently optimizing your images…” in WordPress Optimole settings. Most of my images were already optimized. Verified according to your free scan tool but I wanted to try a cdn and lazy load.
    2. GTMetrix scan of my site shows over 15 redirects of images – which makes sense. But how do I correct or get rid of redirects?
    3. How long until I see improvements? Obviously the redirects are lowering GT Metrix score (over 10-15% on both) and there are more requests, but timing isn’t changing/faster. To be fair, I do see less ‘blocking’ for images in the waterfall.
    4. To be fair, PageSpeed Insights score remained the same (down 1-4% on occasion) and it did remove the “Defer Offscreen Images.”

    Hello @diamondrcreative,

The redirects are happening when we are not able to download the images from your site for processing.

Checking the server logs I see that we have this error reported:
EPROTO 139753040463744:error:14077410:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_SERVER_HELLO:sslv3 alert handshake failure:

If we do detect an error, we never try again to avoid possible abuse.

Looking at your site certificate I see that you have renewed yesterday, so it might have been after you have tried to use Optimole?

Regarding the image optimization, those should start in approx 30s since you connected your account, for sure 12h is too much and that SSL error was the root cause.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks for your quick response!

I personally did not renew certificate – maybe they do it automatically? The certificate is a free general certificate that comes with hosting so I have no clue as to how it is managed/renewed.

What do you recommend to fix error?

Also, the images blur then appear – desktop and mobile. Will this change once error is corrected?

    Hey @diamondrcreative,

I’ve done some change to re-start the process for your site. Can you go to your WordPress dashboard -> Media -> Optimole click on Refresh stats button.

Once that you do this, you can check the site, the redirect should no longer happening.

Make sure to clear any caching that you might have.

    I hope this helps.

I have exactly the same problem. Optimole DOES decreases page size thanks to awesome optimization, but these excessive redirects are actually making the page LOAD slower.

Basically, it is faster to have BIGGER page size with disabled Optimole, rather than “optimizing” images and having crazy number of redirects. That’s the only thing which prevents me from getting paid version of your plugin =(

    Hello Dennis,

The redirects should only happen for a brief period after activation until images get processed, if the issue persists it might be another thing that is causing them.

Can you get in contact with us on https://optimole.com/#contact and mention this ticket so we can have a closer look at your account and fix that for you?

    Thank you!
