• I’m still learning WordPress, but don’t understand yet how to upload PDF and Word documents into the site (“library” maybe) and then be able to create HTML links to them on one of the “page” pages. Can anyone please give me step-by-step instructions on how to do that? Do I just upload the PDF and Word documents to the Library section but then how to I create HTML links to those documents in a Page that will work and show up to the viewer?

  • Use an FTP program or the file manager in your website hosting control panel.

    If you move them into the folder /wp-content/uploads/ (recommended) for example, and your wordpress is installed in a folder called /wp/ your links will look like

    <a href="/wp/wp-content/uploads/myfile.pdf">

    Can you please explain what the Library is for, under Media, and what it does? Also, is there any plug-in to enable javascript?

    The media library is for uploading and attaching images and videos to your posts. I’m not sure whether it lets you upload PDF and DOC files.
