Creating links to permalinks

Not sure what you mean, but you can use the Pages Link To plugin to redirect a WordPress page or post to another URL:
https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/page-links-to/

Say I am making a template for a certain page and add a link to a page in my WP site such as https://www.mysite.com/forum it will be a static

What i need is a way to link to the /forum page but not using the URL but dynamically.

Soooo if I change the forum page permalink to https://www.mysite.com/forumsforall the link I made automatically points there…

I don’t see a way of doing that dynamically unless you put the link in a custom field then in your Page Template so something like:

$link = get_post_meta($post->ID, 'link_url', true);
$text = get_post_meta($post->ID, 'link_text', true);
if ($link){
echo 'Forum: <a href="'.$link .'">'.$text.'</a>';
}
?>
