    Hi,

Whenever I create a new gallery with a new title – it automatically creates the gallery with a title of a previous gallery I created and it also takes the same folder path and slug of that older gallery.

I’m able to rename the folder path for the images via FTP, and rename the title of the gallery in settings – but I can’t change the actual slug of the gallery itself.

I’m running the latest version of the plugin on latest version of WordPress.

    Has anyone experienced this?

@ciaranhan – What process are you using to “create a new gallery”?

    Thanks!

    Hi Cais,

Thanks for getting back. I’m going to Add Gallery / Images in the sidebar, then using the Upload Images option. I have Create a new Gallery select and I’m then giving it a title, hitting Add Files and then Start Upload.

Here is a gif of the process

There are no errors in the console at any point.

I do get the same issue if I Import from WordPress Media Library however.

    I’d appreciate any help ??

@ciaranhan – Thanks for sharing the additional details of your process (great idea to use a GIF)! I’m seeing there are several updates available for your site, I would recommend making certain all of your active plugins as well as your current theme (and its parent-theme) are up-to-date to insure there are no conflicts at hand due to an outdated plugin/theme.

If the issue persists, a link to the site (preferable an inserted display page/post) may provide some additional information for us to use in assisting you to sort this out.

    Thanks!

    Hey Cais (@imagely),

I’ve updated the theme and all plugins here at the staging version of my site and still experience the issue. Is this the link you need? https://kilians.staging.wpengine.com/gallery/

You can see here the first 3 galleries on the page are ones where the issue is occuring. I’ve renamed one of them but you will see it with the url. Can I provide you with login details to your email address or something to login and take a look?

    Thanks!

@ciaranhan – Thanks for the link. Has anything recently changed on your site that you recall prior to seeing these issues?

It appears you may have changed your gallery naming convention which might be somehow triggering WPML to translate the name and creating a cross-up/conflict in the process.

Have you tried deactivating all of your plugins, clearing your browser cache (and site caches if you are using a caching plugin), then reactivating the NextGEN plugin?

If this fixes the problem then it was likely one of the deactivated plugins that was causing an issue. Now, retrace your steps activating each plugin and re-checking to see if the problem returns. If it does then that last activated plugin was probably the one. Keep reactivating and in most cases it is also best to keep checking after each plugin, sometimes there may be more than one plugin on a site that will create an issue. If you do find one (or more) plugins causing this problem we would greatly appreciate your feedback on them so the developers may address them as soon as they can.

Also to note, in rare cases it may be the theme itself that is causing a conflict so while you have just the NextGEN plugin activated you might consider temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress Twenty series themes and see if this corrects the issue as well.

If the problem still persists after all of this we would still want to know, even more so, as we will still want to sort out the issue and may need additional details.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
