Creating secure file uploads, need help…

Heya,
So I’m working a site that needs to allow users to upload files to their own private directory so they are not accessible in the regular Media Library by all other users. I’m wondering if there is a plugin that does this, or if anyone can give me some direction on existing functions that might assist me in developing a plugin that can do this? Thanks!
