Creating side-based menu for select pages

  • Does anyone know how to create a side-based menu for selecting pages/posts – see this link – that does not interfere with a menu built into the page header? Basically, I would like to create a type of menu that pops up (perhaps with a light box feature) upon loading of the page over a nice background image.
