    Hi there!

    I’m running into the problem that the installation is giving me this error:
    DATABASE CREATION FAILURE!
    Unable to create database “*databasename*”.
    Please try creating the database manually to proceed with installation

    Elsewhere you mention that “The best way to get around this issue is to manually create the database in your cpanel, and then connect to it in the install interface.” but I’m not sure what exactly this means… what do I do once I get into the control panel, and how do I continue from there?

    Thanks much!

  • Hey Lady Enslain,

    I made a video here that might help…

    Thanks for that! The video helped me realize that the problem was not that I couldn’t create the database, but that I already had, and just didn’t realize what the terminology was referring to :/ So, by unchecking the “Create database” option, everything worked fine!

    Except, when I went to do the post-install steps, I couldn’t get into wp-admin. For whatever reason, that entire directory was missing from my server. Is there something I did wrong? I manually uploaded wp-admin from the clean install of WordPress, so that problem is solved, but I’m anticipating further problems if I accidentally made some mistake along the way.

    Hey Lady_Enslain,

    You might have an issue that is related to issue here:
    -> Browse to: https://lifeinthegrid.com/duplicator-faq
    -> Find section: “2. Installer=> Why are some of the files from the package.zip not extracting correctly?”

    Hope that helps!
