    Hi,

I totally love this plugin. So much that I don’t want to just use it for events, but also the the list of children’s classes I also publish on my site.

I currently have another tool that displays a grid of custom posts (classes) and can search by keyword and filter by day etc.

I’d like to use Events Manager for classes too but don’t want them appearing on the same list. Think I can get around this using tags e.g. event / class and choose what to display on a page for each.

What I’m struggling with though is the search form. When users search I only want them to search within a tag e.g. class or event – at present it searches all events and returns the results on the main events page.

    Is it possible to:
    a) Have a form that searches for events with a certain tag only?
    b) return results on the same page it is on?

Ideally I’d also like to add custom fields to one of the search forms. I’ve seen some info on this but I wanted to know if you can have two different search forms operating in different ways i.e. with different search criteria?

    Hope someone can help.
    Thanks
    Jen

you can try to use shortcode [event_search_form category=”2″ ajax=1] where 2 is the events category id

    Hi,

Thanks – tried it and it’s a bit strange. The search works ok but it keeps the original event list too… https://www.thishitchinmummy.co.uk/test-classes

Also, I had hoped not to use categories as I’m currently using those for type of event e.g. arts and craft, cinema etc. (I can’t see that you can search by Event Type on the search form?)

Perhaps I’m trying to do something impossible! Effectively I want two “events” pages both operating in the same way but with separate lists and separate search functions…

    Thanks

Basically, I’m trying to replicate the search functionality of this page – happy not to have a grid view but would like to be able to search and filter classes on this page and events on a separate page:

    https://www.thishitchinmummy.co.uk/pre-school-classes-and-groups-in-hitchin

Separate event lists can be created using the events_list shortcode along with attributes to include or exclude categories and tags. Something like this:

    [events_list category= “1,2,3”]

    https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/shortcodes/

Creating separate search functions would involve quite a bit of custom coding.
