    Hi,

I have one live site and one that’s not yet live both using your plugin (located in New Zealand). Since day 1 on the live site, there have never been any credit card icons showing or any way to add text to say ‘Cleared by Stripe’ or the like.

I went on a wild goosechase for hours yesterday and implemented a change that others talked about only to find out it was a completely different Woo/Stripe plugin where they had removed the icons due to formatting problems. Searching in this forum for the same problem came up with nothing.

The only thing I could think of, since it hasn’t seemed to be a problem with anyone else, is this blurb on the settings page for the plugin:
“Add and edit payments available to customers at checkout. Based on their device type, location, and purchase history, your customers will only see the most relevant payment methods.” Well, we do have Visa and MC here so I don’t see why it wouldn’t show up.

Could that have something to do with it? I’m using OceanWP on both sites but I did switch the new one over to a temp theme and they still didn’t appear. All cache and plugin cache have been cleared or disabled. I even changed the currency to USD once to see if that’d trigger it but it didn’t.

Any help here would be appreciated as it looks sort of sketchy not showing which CC’s are accepted or saying anything about where it’s cleared through, etc.

    Thanks!

  • Hello @iguanamom

Thanks for reaching out about this issue with WooCommerce Payments. From what I can see, those icons will load when you enter a card number.

I tested this on your site and it shows as it should when the credit card number is added to the form. Are you expecting them to display elsewhere? If so, please reply with the site’s System Status Report. You can find it via WooCommerce → Status:

Select the purple Get system report button (shown above) and then the purple Copy for support button (shown below).? This will copy the status report to your device’s clipboard. Please paste it in your reply to this message.

Hey @phillipwoo thanks for taking the time to try that out. I was expecting, like that PayPal one above it, to show what CC’s are accepted. It just looks sort of dodgy without saying what’s accepted or ‘Powered by Stripe’. At least someplace I can put that in the description? Is that just not how it works?

The site you’re on I did not enable that newer version of it (I did on the site under construction which does show the credit cards accepted without having to enter them first).

I’d still like to be able to modify or add to the description something about Stripe though. Is there a way to do that? The screenshot the guy earlier posted looks nothing like mine. The theme is OceanWP which does use its own Woo styling, but that should have nothing to do with the backend of it.

When is that newer version going to be the default and are there any problems with it so far?

    Thanks again!
    Steph

    Hi @iguanamom

The difficulty these days is that a number of cards and payment methods might be available to a customer who is visiting from one country or marketplace, but not to a visitor who is visiting from another country or marketplace. It is not entirely about where the site is situated, but rather about where the customer is.

This is the problem the new interface works to solve: customers see what is most relevant to them. As you enter the first digits in the card number, the card type is identified (4242 is a test Visa card, for example, as see in the screenshot: https://d.pr/Q6Vm9N).

WooCommerce Payments currently uses Stripe as a payment processor in the background, but your site is using WooCommerce Payments as it’s payment gateway method. I hope that helps.
