Credit card input fields not loading on Checkout page

I just checked my website and I was not able to replicate the issue with Woopayments version 7.3.0.

It is possible this is a conflict with other plugin, as sometimes when a plugin updates it has new features that are not compatible with another plugin or the theme.

But before trying a conflict test I wanted to take a better look at your website.

Please share with us the necessary information on the site that has 7.3 version below for us to investigate the issue further:

System Status Report which you can find via WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Copy for support.
Fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Then you can use the selector to search for Fatal Errors.

Just a quick update – I have also deactivated all non-mandatory 3rd party plugins to see if the credit card input fields loaded, and it hasn’t helped.

The only plugins that I’ve left running on our staging site are:

Avada Builder
Avada Core
(these are both required for the Avada wordpress theme)

WooCommerce
WooPayments

I went ahead with checking out Avada theme’s changelog (linked here), and it appears to be reporting compatibility up to WooCommerce version 8.6.1 (since February 27th, 2024) — while the store at https://validitystage.wpengine.com has WooCommerce version 8.7.0 activated.

This appears to be the culprit behind the issue reported with WooPayments here. To be sure, feel free to activate a default theme, like TT3, on the staging site, and make sure the classic or block-based Checkout is enabled — without any Avada functionality activated.

Thank you for your guidance with this. I have successfully tested with TT3 and block Checkout page, and confirm that the credit card input fields appear.

However, when I switch back to the Avada theme and roll back WooCommerce to version 8.6.1, the problem still persists unless I also roll back WooPayments to version 7.2.0.

I guess I will need to raise a support ticket with Avada?

Just a quick update – I’ve jumped into a discussion in the Avada Users Group where others have posted the same issue.

I switched to a different Stripe plugin as recommended by one of the other users, and this other one works fine.

Interestingly, I noticed today that another update was available for WooPayments. I updated WooPayments to version 7.4.0 and reactivated the plugin, and the credit card input fields now load properly.

My Avada theme is still on the same version as when I raised the problem with version 7.3.0 of your plugin.

I’m glad it’s sorted as I do prefer your plugin – do you have any thoughts on why it’s working fine in versions 7.2.0 and 7.4.0, but not 7.3.0?

I’m glad to hear that the issue you were experiencing has been resolved with the update to WooPayments version 7.4.0.

As for the issue with version 7.3.0 of our plugin, it could have been due to a number of reasons. Most commonly, such problems arise due to conflicts with other plugins or the theme, which was later fixed in the update.

I love the improved input field height as well – I had tried to achieve that with some custom css, but couldn’t get it to work. Thank you for making that visual improvement in your update :).
