    Hi,

I want to show the credits list on both English and Chinese pages. I installed Loco Translate and translated the ISC plugin to Chinese. However, nothing shows up on my website’s chinese page after inserting the shortcode. What else should I do to make it show up?

    Hey lioioil,

    thanks for reaching out!

I am confident that ISC works in different languages since we are using the plugin in English and German.

How did you add the Chinese translation?
Is the page where the plugin is running natively in Chinese as well? Is that a multisite?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

I simply used the shortcode [isc_list_all included=”all”] to list all the credits.

The page is set up using Polylang + Loco translate and it is set as ‘Chinese’ page. It is linked to the ‘English’ page so that when visitors switch between the languages, they should be able to see the same page using different languages. From the link that I posted, you can switch to English from the hamburger menu and you can see the English version, which is working perfectly.

It is not a multisite. I’m using https://mysite.com/language.

Edit: I think I know where the problem lies. There are no images in my ‘Chinese’ site. All the images are from the ‘English’ site as I duplicated the pages/posts from there to the ‘Chinese’ site. Is there a way to display the same credits list from English in the ‘Chinese’ site without importing all the images as this is going to take up more server space?

I don’t know how Polylang works under the hood, but have seen similar issues being resolved with little code. Unfortunately, I won’t have time to look into it soon. If you are in contact with Polylang, please inform them of this thread. They might have a solution or could point me to a developer resource, i.e., how to run a WP query to get all images.

I quickly googled and found this page. It sounds like this might be resolved by disabling the Media module, at least for newly uploaded images. Would that be an option for you?

    Thanks,
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,

Thanks for the info! It solved my problem. I overlooked this setting in Polylang.

Another question: Is there a way to add border line to the list table? It looks very messy without lines to differentiate between sources. I looked into ISC settings and can’t find any. Does that mean I have to add CSS to see the border?

    Hey lioioil,

thanks for your feedback. I am glad that my suggestion helped.

ISC takes most of the CSS from the installed theme, so you didn’t miss any option to adjust it. As you assumed correctly, you could use custom CSS to adjust the style of the table.

    Thanks,
    Thomas
