Critical AMP error Amazon PIP plug in -no shade not allowed

    I am getting critical AMP errors on all the Product in a Post links I have in my posts. I beleive it is part of the plug in style for the product heading.

    The attribute ‘noshade’ may not appear in tag ‘hr’

    This is the line of code that is identified for each product link.

    <hr noshade=”noshade”/><div class=”amazon-product-pricing-wrap”>

    I don’t even see where I could intervene to change it so am asking if an update will be released for the plug in.

  • I’m using the plug-in too and here’s how you can fix it for now. Beware though that this workaround will be overwritten when there is an update to the plug-in in the future.

    Edit this file under the plugins\ folder on your WordPress blog:
    amazon-product-in-a-post-plugin\inc\amazon-product-in-a-post-get-product.php

    Find every noshade=”noshade” occurences and remove the noshade=”noshade” part (keeping the <hr /> in tact. Save the file and re-test your AMP posts/pages to double check.

    Thanks for telling them a fix to this. I will be sure to remove it from the plugin files in the next update – it is no longer needed anyway.
