Critical Error

  • Hello dear Everyone,

    Owno! My website gives the following sentence if you visit the url:

    ‘There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.’

    But I do not know how to login because putting /wp-admin behind it does not work.
    I never logged in, in a different way?
    Help would be really appricated!Thank you SO much.

  • I’m now seeing your earlier post that was moderated.

    Note that there are different kinds of PHP “errors”. Most are benign and are merely notices to the developer to follow coding conventions. Some are warnings, again, for the developer, about WordPress coding changes they need to adopt. In many cases, the site will work fine in spite of these “errors”.

    “FATAL ERRORS” are different. The code stops executing, and, often, that means the site gets completely broken.

    I see this from the log message you posted earlier:

    Fatal error: Array and string offset access syntax with curly braces is no longer supported in /home/public/sites/www.alissarees.com/wp-content/plugins/dropbox-backup/libs/wpadm.server.main.class.php on line 81

    There’s a “Fatal error” pointing to the “Dropbox Backup” plugin active on your site.

    This plugin is closed since 2018 and is no longer maintained. You need to delete this plugin completely from your site and find an alternative backup solution.

    Hello George, I found the line ”WP_DEBUG’, true’, but I can not manage to figure out what to do know when reading everything you send me. I think I need to update my PHP aswell but for that you need a host server, which I do not have. I think from this point I need to ask for professional help that sits beside me. Thank you so much for trying to help me. I really appreciate it George !
