I love the plugin, but I’ve also been experiencing problems for the past few days. I’ve been using it for years, and it has always worked very well. All my plugins are up to date, and everything else is working fine. The only issue is with the Yoast Duplicate Post plugin.

    1. Several times, I’ve encountered the “critical error” message when I click on “Edit and Republish” for an article. When this error occurs, a duplicate is created instead of a republish.
    2. Yesterday, I had an issue with an old article that I had scheduled for republish for a while. It was initially published at the correct time with an extended URL. Shortly after, it disappeared.
Thanks to my calendar plugin, I could see it. The problem is that the original article wasn’t overwritten (even though it was set to republish, not duplicate). In the calendar, the remark “dp-rewrite-republish” is visible. But the revised article cannot be found in WordPress, only through the calendar function.

This is very unfortunate, as I use the plugin a lot and enjoy it. Is there a solution for this?

    Thank you.

    Hi @tanja290384

I am sorry to learn that you are facing critical error when you are trying to use Edit and Republish and you noticed a duplicate appears.

    1. For the critical error, can you kindly share with us the server error log report?
The server error logs usually provide more details about the issue. If you have access to your server error log, note the date and time before generating the error again. Then, immediately check your server error log for any errors during that period. If you don’t have access to your server error log, please ask your hosting provider to look for you.

If you or your web host cannot pinpoint the cause, please provide us with a copy of the server error log for further investigation. As server logs can cover a significant amount of time, please limit the error log to a few minutes before and after the behavior was reproduced.
    2. May I know the calendar plugin URL and the steps I should take to replicate the issue?

Hi Mushrit, thanks a lot. I will have a look, where I can find the server error logs.

The Calender Plugin is: WordPress Editorial Calendar

I will check for the errors first and get back to you. I think it will be difficult to reproduce if you don’t have the error.

    Hi @tanja290384

If you don’t have access to your server error log, you can ask your hosting provider to look for you. You can also check this article on debugging WordPress.

Meanwhile, can you kindly confirm if this is the plugin you are referring to: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/editorial-calendar/ ?

Thank you. Sorry, I was on vacation for a week. Yes, that is the correct calendar plugin.

I can’t find any server error logs, but I have emailed the hosting provider.

I have deactivated all my plugins, and the error persists. It seems that the issue lies with Yoast Duplicate Post. I will get back to you with the response from the hosting provider.

Please excuse the late feedback, I first had to find someone to help me read the error log.

    Hi @tanja290384

Thank you for sharing with us the error log report.

    Critical error:

The problem is caused by the?Link Whisper Free?plugin. It looks like it’s causing the same problem with many different plugins, kindly check these:?example 1?–??example 2?–?example 3.

Kindly reach out to the?Link Whisper Free plugin’s support and let them know about that, the error message suggests already what they should do i.e Please ensure that the class definition “Wpil_Model_Link” of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded before unserialize() gets called or provide an autoloader to load the class definition.

    About the Calendar plugin:

While checking the Calendar plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/editorial-calendar/, I noticed it hasn’t been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress. Please check this screenshot. So you may face other compatibility issues due to this.

Thank you for the quick reply and your help. I haven’t used the Link Whisperer plugin for at least over a year. And after discontinuing the plugin, there have been no problems with Yoast Duplicate Post plugin so far.

Do you think a plugin that no longer exists can cause this error? Then I like to ask the support, but since the error is new and the plugin has not been on the site for a long time, I would be a bit surprised.

I’m relatively sure that the Calender plugin is not the problem. Fortunately, I was only able to use this plugin on the originally planned (revised) articles. Otherwise, all the revision would have been lost, as the article could no longer be found in the backend.

Ah I just read in the one link that it may actually be that the plugin “leaves” something. I will try the solution mentioned there and get back to you. Thank you

A huge thank you. I had already googled, but I hadn’t found this page. The link you shared contains the problem solution! V3 Database Migration Fails | www.ads-software.com

It can be revised and republished without errors and the re-release also works. THANK YOU
