Since the latest update of the plugin, different pages of my site can’t load because of the WebStory plugin causing errors…

Got error ‘PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: Return value of Google\\Web_Stories\\Renderer\\Archives::embed_player() must be of the type string, null returned in /home/wp_98cuxm/paosfitworld.com/wp-content/plugins/web-stories/includes/Renderer/Archives.php:100

    Pages affected:
    https://paosfitworld.com/macros-form/
    https://paosfitworld.com/mca-application/

It’s not the first time that the plugin conflicts with other things.

Please, I need a solution asap, as the Macros Form page is vital for my business.

    I’m running WebStories 1.10.0

Just deactivated the plugin and the pages load with no issues, so the plugin is causing interference probably with Gravity Forms. I’m running Gravity Forms 2.5.9

I also noticed that the story dashboard gets slower with every plugin update. I have 49 published stories and the dashboard is really slow and I have dedicated/managed WordPress hosting so it’s definitely not the server.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your report!

Please note that we’re not monitoring these forums over the weekend.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having troubles with using this plugin in combination with another one. We are actively working on fixing this error and plan to release a new update soon. To confirm, in your case the incompatibility was with Gravity Forms?

Thanks for letting us know about the perceived performance in the dashboard as well! Performance is a top priority for us and we’ve made numerous improvements in that area in the latest release and are expected to make even more speed improvements in the next release.

I am also having this issue, but am not using Gravity forms. I just updated Web Stories to the latest version and cannot access any of my drafts or published web stories. Not savvy enough to figure out which plugin is required, but happy to share a list if helpful.

    Thanks Pascal, highly appreciated.

Do you have a tentative ETA for the fix?

    Thanks again for your time.

I am having the same issue. Creating a new page results in a critical error. I am also running Gravity Forms. Replying to this thread to receive notifications about a fix!

@paosfitworld @thehangrychickpea @curioelectro Hello everyone, we’ve recently released a new version of the Web Stories for WordPress plugin which includes the change mentioned above. Could you please update to the latest version 1.10.1 and confirm this issue no longer occurs on your end?

    Thank you!

I updated to 1.10.1 and I am no longer having the issue when I create a new page. Thanks, Luckyna!

Hi guys, the update now allows Gravity Forms to show up on my website. However, it also introduced a new problem… I think the My Stories dashboard is even slower now. Everything else in the application runs smoother, but the “My Stories” section takes forever to load and sometimes, it times out.

Great to hear that the errors went away for you!

Regarding the performance, this update has not touched the “My Stories” page at all. So there must be something else causing that.

Would you mind creating a new topic regarding the performance so we can have a detailed look there? Thanks in advance.

I am marking this topic as resolved since the original error was resolved.
