Critical error in the backend after update

Can you please try this fix? What the error message did you see?

Hey Tran, I tried the fix, no change, same issue. Error : “There has been a critical error on this website.”

Can you turn on the debug mode and see what the error is?

Looks like meta boxes are registered incorrectly. Can you share the code that register meta boxes? Or are you using premium extensions to create meta boxes?

Sorry, I’m not sure what code you’re talking about, the plugin came with the template, I don’t think I’m using premium extensions, nor if I’m using this plugin. I don’t thing so. The thing is that WordPress says that the theme requires this plugin.

WordPress version 6.1.1
Active theme: XSmart (version 1.2.5)
Current plugin: Meta Box (version 5.6.11)
PHP version 7.4.30

By the way, with your last fix, the website stopped working too.

Tran, a copy of what exactly?? Man, I’m not a developer, I’m just trying to understand and find a way to fix it. Please be more explicit. Thanks

I meant a copy of the theme.

Anyway, I’ve just released a new version with the fix that I mentioned. Please update and let me know if you still see the bug.

I just tried the version 5.6.12. Same issue. Same critical error.

I’m having the same issue with the critical error with the XSmart theme 1.2.0 update. I had to disable all the plugins via FTP and activate them one by one. Metabox is definitely the culprit. Any solution?

@pernad01 Please ask the theme author to update bundled extensions to the latest version. It’s required the latest versions of all extensions to work well with Meta Box.

Thank you for responding! I had to reinstall the theme, update it then put back the plugins. It’s working now. ??
