When I tried to login to my blog, I received this error: “There has been a critical error on your website.” I wasn’t allowed to login. I need help to fix this.
I recently activated a new blog theme, could this have anything to do with receiving this message?
    Thank you

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Hi,

We are also facing same issue. Has any one found a way to fix this issue ? It would be much appreciated if some help on the same. We cant able to do anything on our website since it shows only “Theres been a critical error on your website”.

    Hi,
I couldn’t fix the issue myself (though I appreciated the information from James Huff) so I ended up going to my site host provider, and they were able to fix the issue for me via live chat.
