Critical Error Message

    Anyone else getting the following error? “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

    Everything was working fine last night, and then I started getting this today on every page. Disabled all plugins through FileManager, went through the process of reactivating them all, and it is the Elementor plugin that generates the error. Currently running Version 3.6.8

    To troubleshoot this issue, follow these instructions:

    If you’re locked out of your WordPress dashboard, open the recovery email sent to you from WordPress. Click the link in that email to gain access to your site’s WordPress dashboard once again.

    Deactivate all plugins apart from Elementor. If this helps, reactivate them one by one to find the culprit.

    If this doesn’t work, switch your theme temporarily to Twenty Nineteen and see if that helps.

    If this doesn’t work, make sure you are using the updated versions of Elementor and Elementor Pro.

    If this doesn’t work, make sure your WordPress site meets the basic requirements recommended for Elementor. You can check this in your WP Dashboard > Elementor > System Info. If needed, you can ask your hosting provider to make these changes for you.

    In my original post, I mentioned I deactivated all the plugins through my cPanel and determined the culprit was Elementor.

    I will try the theme switch and check there.

    @blizzard0627 were you able to fix your issue with the theme switch? I ran into the same error, trying to update the plugin. I can confirm the Elementor plugin is the culprit.

    Yes, I used Elementor’s suggestion. Deactivated plugins via cPanel, activated a generic theme. Reactivated plugins, and then swapped back over to my original theme. Not sure why it worked, but it did.

    Thank you for the reply. The theme switch didn’t work for me. I tried their soltuion and deactivated every plugin with Elementor active. I activated one by one and it was another plugin required by my theme that was causing issues. I deactivated/activated it and it fix the error. RS Elements was the plugin.
