    Hello,

This is a staging site for a live website. I received this critical error message when I updated to v19.8 this morning. The site is up and seems to be working fine. I can get into the dashboard, see everything – I don’t see any visible issues.

I have performed this update on three other sites this morning with no issues. I have one site left to update – the site this staging site is for. Should I be concerned? Am I safe to proceed with the update on the live site?

    Error message is below.

    WordPress version 6.0.2
    Active theme: Astra (version 3.9.2)
Current plugin: Yoast SEO (version 19.8) PHP version 8.1.9

Sorry to hear that you have an error during the plugin Yoast SEO update. It looks like a file went missing during the plugin update, and you see the relevant error.

You can remove and reinstall the Yoast SEO plugin, which shall fix the issue for you!

Let us know whether the issue persists.

    Hi,

Thank you for the quick response, it is much appreciated.

I went ahead and deleted/reinstalled Yoast on the staging site to hopefully clear out the critical error. Everything looked OK, so I went ahead and updated my live website. The update went through, no issues, no critical errors. Everything looks good ??

So I’m all set. Thank you!
