Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: Error in formating DateTime object. Expected DateTime, but instead given boolean in /home/customer/www/MYWEBSITE.COM/public_html/wp-content/plugins/event-organiser/includes/event-organiser-utility-functions.php on line 31

The problem has come and gone several times over the last 4 days and the whole page is broken when it happens.

What makes things even worse that that when the error is displayed it also displays other infomation about different plugins on the site, and also its theme.

Did you update WP to 6.1? Did this happen after that?

I am getting this too – intermittent, if I go into the event showing the error and press save, it seem to “reset” and it is ok again.

@octotoot I have 6.1 but my site is updated automatically by my Host so I can’t connect it, yet.

Would either of your happen to be with Siteground by the way?

Aditionally, I also use the Event Organiser Posterboard plugin which compliments this one.

When the above error happens I also see issues with the Posterboard, as it displays “false” where the Month and Day would normally be shown.

@stephenharris is there any chance someone can help please? Thank you.

I do use siteground. When these issues were discovered nine days ago, was able manually restore from their backup which is automatically done – they keep the last 30 days.

I also have turned off auto update for core and plugins.

I also put in a support thread. https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/critical-error-viewing-event/

@octotoot the fact we both use Siteground could be more than just a coincidence. Have you contacted Siteground support about the issue?

I have just checked the developer website support forum and can see that others also seem to have issues – although not the exact same issue – since upating to WP 6.1, which they say was solved by restoring 6.0:
