    Hi @simplecv

This seems to be similar to the issue mentioned in this thread: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/issue-with-avada-theme-custom-cart-template/

From your description and the other thread, the problem appears to be related to the Avada Builder plugin. We recommend following up with the Avada team, as PayPal Payments is not directly causing this issue.

However, if you continue to encounter this issue after consulting with them, please don’t hesitate to provide us with any additional information you might have. You can reach the support team privately from here.
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

Hi Niklas, Thank you for your response. Avada write that I recommend contacting Woocommerce PayPal support to check this issue as the error is referring to the Woocommerce PayPal file.

However, I appreciate your link to the similar support thread. It seems like exactly the same problem that I am experiencing and I have referred Avada support to your response to the similar thread.

    Hi @simplecv

It’s understandable to see the PayPal Payments plugin as the issue, considering the error points to it.

While we haven’t yet had an opportunity to run our own tests, the available information suggests that the error ceases to appear when the Avada Builder plugin is deactivated. This implies that the Builder plugin might be altering the cart data object in a way that prevents the PayPal Payments plugin from processing it correctly.

Typically, TypeErrors are not so challenging to resolve. However, it’s important that the plugin doesn’t operate with incorrect data types. Doing so could potentially introduce more elusive and harder-to-fix bugs compared to a TypeError.

We encourage Avada’s support team to investigate this interaction further, and we remain available for any required assistance from our end.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas

    Hi Niklas,

As always, your support is much appreciated. I have forwarded this information to Avada.

The Avada developers have now fixed this issue.
The solution will be included in the next theme update too.
