critical error when accessing widgets

    I am trying to get into appearance – widgets but getting the error:
    “There was been a critical error on your website”

    I have done a search on the forum here but found nothing which has a direct solution for me. Everything was working normally – then all of a sudden not.

    I don’t think that I made any changes in the interim, so I’m a bit confused.

    At this time the divi child theme (traxide theme) does not have any additional code in it. Essentially it’s operating in the same way the Divi itself would.

    It’s POSSIBLE I may have updated woocommerce which resulted in this error (I can’t be sure if I did it them or after the error eventuated)

    The only other updates were to inactive themes and plugins.

    Further to the above I DEACTIVATED WooCommerce itself.

    I could then go in and delete the contents of the sidebar.

    I then reactivated woocommerce.

    I seem to be able to access the widgets screen now.

    Any ideas as to what may have caused this / how to prevent a recurrence?

    It’s possible that WooCommerce was updated (as it appears you do have the latest available version on your site) but the update was corrupt, which may have caused the error you were experiencing.

    Should that have been the case, reactivating WooCommerce would have fixed any hiccups during the update.

    I’ll go ahead and mark this as resolved however, please feel free to create a new topic should the issue return, or should you need any further help with WooCommerce core. ??
