When I try to upgrade my WordPress installation to use PHP version 8.0 or higher I get a Critical Error on my job posts. The page listing all of the jobs shows fine, but when I click on a job title to go to the job description, I get a “There has been a critical error on this website.” error message. If I revert back to PHP version 7.4 the error message goes away. Unfortunately, PHP version 7.4 is no longer being supported to I need to upgrade.

    Hi @philbert25

I’m sorry for the trouble you are having.

I tested with the latest version of WP Job Manager on PHP v8.0.x and v8.1.x and could not reproduce this error.

Could you try with a default theme (Storefront) and only WP Job Manager enabled (disabling all other plugins) and let us know if that fixes the issue? It may be that another theme or plugin is conflicting here.

Thanks for getting back to me. I ran debugging and found that I was getting a PHP error on one of the WP Job Manager Pages that I had customized within my theme folder. I fixed the error and it is working now, it is just strange that it didn’t cause a problem until I updated to PHP 8.
