Critical – Form not sending, not clearing fields, forever spinning

  • Hi thanks for making contact for 7. It appears that version 5.4 has a bug or for some reason did not work for me. After upgrading there was a new spinner (a while circle with a black circle spinning inside of it) that would spin forever upon submission. Also the forms would not clear. However the email would send. I disabled plugins one by one until all were disabled and I the bug was still present. I rolled back to 5.3.2 and everything starting working as expected again. Based on other comments it seems I am not the only one.

    Hi, sorry for not including that earlier. The website with some contact form examples are https://boomerangtransport.net/contact-us/ and https://boomerangtransport.net/coordinator-position/. Those are live forms. You can test on https://boomerangtransport.net/airport-transportation/ all you want and those emails just get sent to me. I’m happy to help troubleshoot in any way to do my part to get this resolved. Thanks!

    I disabled most of them during the testing phase (at least the ones that I thought could possibly interfere) and it didn’t resolve the issue. Only rolling back to a previous version solved it.

    Same critical fail here. I noticed people were sending messages through FB. So went in to test Contact Form 5.4 and it gives a new forever spinning wheel and nothing happens. Reverting to 5.3.2. and it works perfect as before. Please fix this! Use Perfmatters to unload Contact 7 script everywhere except on Contact Page.

    Same Here. Looks like mail has not been sent (but it has).

    Also the Google Analytics tracking stopped working.

    Finally the URL of the page had a whole series of extra paths appended to it: /contact-form-7/v1/contact-forms/524902/feedback?_locale=user which makes a 404 page whent he user clicks on it.

    Have reverted back to earlier version. Would be good to know when this will be fixed.

    Hi! Is there any movement on this? I keep skipping updates for fear that it will break again. I have provided as much information as I can and hopefully you are able to troubleshoot and find a solution. Thanks!
