site /podcast already exist, URL customisation impossible

You can use a filter to change the episode archive slug from podcast to one of your choice, thus freeing up /podcast for your own use. The caveat to this is you would have to change your RSS feed slug along with it so your RSS feed would change and this will cause problems if it has already been distributed. However, if you haven’t already distributed your RSS feed, you can use the following filters:

To modify the podcast archive slug:

add_filter( 'ssp_archive_slug', 'ssp_modify_podcast_archive_slug' );
function ssp_modify_podcast_archive_slug ( $slug ) {
  return 'new-slug';
}

To modify the RSS feed slug:

add_filter( 'ssp_feed_slug', 'ssp_modify_podcast_feed_slug' );
function ssp_modify_podcast_feed_slug ( $slug ) {
  return 'new-slug';
}

You could use a plugin such as Code Snippets so you don’t have to modify the functions.php directly.

NOTE: You will need to resave your permalinks after adding these snippets in order to make them work. And again, if you change the archive slug, you have to change the RSS feed slug as well so that is a drawback if you’ve already distributed your RSS feed.

Did you try it this way?

1. Go to Settings -> Permalinks -> Permalink structure.
2. Use Custom Structure with the following settings – /base/%postname%/
3. Save changes.

I think this will break all other permalinks if I change it

But now I have another problem. the podcast wont work with the apps (for example antennapod)

now I have 2 rss feeds (protected username: user124 password: user123)

1. specific feed to podcast https://vaegabond.com/feed/podcasting/der-radreisepodcast-spezial/

2. regular feed to the new slug https://vaegabond.com/feed/podcasting/

If i try to import the first one (https://vaegabond.com/feed/podcasting/der-radreisepodcast-spezial/) it will not import and shows error like this:

if try to import the second one (https://vaegabond.com/feed/podcasting/) it will add the podcast but it will show error once I try to refresh it

how to protect the site as well? I don′t really get it, If you protect the rss feed and people can still listen to it on the podcast site?

Good news that you managed to fix the page URL issue!

Regarding making the private content – do you use any memberships plugin for it? You can check any of them, like Memberships, Lifter LMS, Paid Membership Pro. Also, if you use Castos hosting, we have an integration with the plugins I mentioned.
